Anatomics has developed the Neuro Care bundle of products for neurosurgeons with a choice in patient-specific cranial reconstruction materials with porous and non-porous polymers and a titanium mesh option. A CT-based BioModel replica and Surgical Templates allow for precise implant deployment. Our off-the-shelf StarPore® implants, DuraShield® and SkullPro® patient matched wearables complete the Neuro Care bundle to support neurosurgical treatment pathways. Neuromonitoring products from Raumedic provide an ideal adjunct to the Neuro Care bundle.

Surgical Templates are designed by Anatomics engineers to assist the surgeon in confirming the fit of an Anatomics implant in certain cases. Existing tissue at the surgical site area may need modification to achieve optimal implant fit. A Surgical Template acts as a proxy for the implant to allow the surgeon to prepare the donor site appropriately. This reduces handling and potential contamination of the actual implant.
BioModels are an anatomical model derived from the patient's CT scan data to provide tactile representation of the patient’s anatomy and condition. BioModels may assist with diagnosis informed consent, and precise planning of the sequence of surgery. BioModels may be used to plan incisions and osteotomies and can be sterilised and used as an intra-operative navigation tool. Clinical data shows BioModels reduce total surgery time and therefore reduce patient exposure to anaesthetics and blood loss. In neurosurgery, BioModels have demonstrated utility in skull base surgery, cerebrovascular anomalies, tumour resection and cranial reconstruction.
The StarPore® Pterional Implant has been designed to correct temporal hollowing caused by wasting of the temporalis muscle following the pterional surgical approach to the brain. The implant is supplied in standard left and right-side shapes and is easily modifiable intra-operatively. The implant has modifiable fins to allow for customisation of lateral extension. It is screwed directly onto the skull in the desired position.
The StarPore® Burr Hole implant is used to correct small holes in the skull created during craniotomy surgery. A low-profile flange extending over the defect for screw fixation. Multiple sizes are available to suit surgeon and hospital preferences.
The StarPore® Sellar Implant is designed to repair the floor of the Sellar Turcica (Pituitary Fossa) following trans-sphenoidal surgery. The implant is oversized and features two tabs to provide the surgeon flexibility with modification and handling.
A contoured rectangular sheet implant designed to fit smaller full or partial thickness craniofacial defects. Available in two sizes (90mm x 50mm and 110mm x 80mm) with one thickness (4mm) the implant can be cut and carved to correct defects where a patient-specific solution is not optimal or possible.
The anatomically contoured Cranial Onlay Implant is a standard shape that can be used for repairing lateral cranial defects. Often used as an alternative to a patient specific implant, the material can be easily trimmed to size and allows for mini-plates and screws to be used for fixation. The unique flange design allows additional flexibility with fixation that can be easily modified to the patient’s clinical needs. A standard Surgical Template is available that matches the implant’s geometry, for use as an implant proxy during decompression surgery to guide craniotomy size and shape. This essentially creates a decompression kit with the corresponding cranial reconstruction implant.
The anatomically contoured Cranial Inlay Implant is a standard shape that can be used for repairing lateral cranial defects. Often used as an alternative to a patient specific implant, the implant can be easily trimmed to size. A standard Surgical Template is available that matches the implant’s geometry, for use as an implant proxy during decompression surgery to guide craniotomy size and shape. This essentially creates a decompression kit with the corresponding cranial reconstruction implant.
The Symmetrical Cranial Onlay Implant is a standard shape that can be used for repairing cranial defects and offers an alternative to other reconstruction procedures including titanium mesh onlay and calvarial graft. The unique flange can be trimmed and modified easily to suit each patient’s clinical needs and offers a fixation alternative.

DuraShield® is a pre-formed, concave silicone implant designed to separate the dura mater from the overlying skin flap and maintain the separate tissue planes, thereby reducing the need for lengthy dissection at the time of cranioplasty. This may assist in reducing complications associated with decompressive craniectomy reconstruction. DuraShield® is anatomically contoured to ensure easy application to the brain surface, regardless of the size of the craniectomy. DuraShield® can be trimmed at the time of implantation and placed over the dura within the bone defect, ensuring optimal fit for each patient.
Options for covering skull defects after craniectomy are usually limited to unsuitable sports helmets. Anatomics has pioneered SkullPro® as a slim, patient matched and contoured alternative to provide an aesthetic cover for skull deformity. SkullPro® has a thin, tough nylon shell selected to cover an individual patient’s skull defect. The shell sits inside a washable and hypoallergenic fabric pocket which is then held in place with a breathable mesh band or beanie. SkullPro® offers patients a superior and hygienic alternative to sports helmets.
